“Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word. This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit. . .”
Going through a difficult time and need support? The Leland Community United Methodist Church provides many areas of service and support. Our Stephen Ministry is one of the most direct ways we can help.
Leland Community United Methodist Church has Stephen Ministers available to help you through a difficult time.
Stephen Leaders are trained to be capable of accompanying those who are facing some crisis in life, for instance, illness, death of a loved one, divorce, relocation, or financial setback. Stephen Ministers are also dedicated to train others in their parish to be a Stephen Leader.
The organization is named for St. Stephen, one of seven deacons appointed by the Apostles for his charitable aid to members of the community in the early Church (Acts 6:5).
