Stephen Ministry
“Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and give our attention to prayer and the word’s ministry. This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit. . .”
Going through a difficult time and need support? The Leland Community United Methodist Church provides many areas of service and support. Our Stephen Ministry is one of the most direct ways we can help.
Leland Community United Methodist Church has Stephen Ministers available to help you through a difficult time.
Stephen Leaders are trained to accompany those who are facing some crisis in life, for instance, illness, death of a loved one, divorce, relocation, or financial setback. Stephen Ministers are also dedicated to training others in their parish to be Stephen Leaders.
The organization is named for St. Stephen, one of seven deacons appointed by the Apostles for his charitable aid to members of the community in the early Church (Acts 6:5).
Please contact the church office (231-256-9161) to find out more or to request a Stephen Minister.
